Hope in Jesus International connects with local churches in regions where Christians are being harshly persecuted. We assist persecuted Christians by providing resources for essential needs like food, shelter, and medical care for those who have been displaced or lost their livelihoods due to their faith. We also provide them with resources like Holy Bibles and Christian literature, helping them stay connected to their faith and strengthen their communities. Additionally, we share their stories and advocate for their safety and religious freedom. We encourage believers all around the world to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters suffering for their faith.

Why persecution happens?

Christian persecution stems from a complex mix of factors, often a combination of the following:

Extremist ideologies: Extremist groups who hold radical religious beliefs, see Christianity as a threat to their way of life. They target Christians through violence, intimidation, social pressure to convert and aiming to wipe them out.

Government suppression: Some governments see Christianity as a threat to their authority, fearing its message of equality and potential for dissent. They persecute Christians to maintain their control.

State control of religion: Certain countries have state religions and strict limitations on religious freedom. This makes it difficult and dangerous for Christians to practice their faith openly.

Cultural Intolerance: In societies with a dominant religion, minority faiths like Christianity are viewed with suspicion or hostility. This leads to social exclusion, discrimination, and even violence.

Economic and Social Factors: Sometimes, persecution is driven by more practical concerns. Christians are denied access to resources or opportunities because of their faith. This can be a way to pressure them to convert or simply marginalize them within society.

Nationalism and Ethnicity: In some countries, religion and ethnicity are intertwined. Christians who belong to a minority ethnic group are doubly targeted, facing persecution for both their faith and their heritage.
